Slices of Life: Pieces of Life Picked Up on the Road Along the Course of Living

It is not meant to be exhaustive, nor is it all-inclusive, but rather a reflection of my own feelings and my own personal reactions. It is, if you will, my interpretations of life as represented by the quotations of others. I see each one as slices of life, which together have helped to produce the person I am.
This is not intended to influence anyone particularly, since I firmly believe that interpretation is very much a personal journey that can only be achieved by the individual, acting alone.
Slices of Life therefore, is a reflection of me and who I really am. This reflects how I think, how I feel, and above all, how I have lived.
It is my sincere hope that as you explore this book, you will get to know more about me and what I have lived for. If you do, then this exercise was not done in vain.

Understanding Life and Living: Random Thoughts on Choosing a Life Worthy of Living

I have always believed that we are not just random or accidental beings placed to live out our lives on earth. There is a purpose for having this life for each one of us, but we seem to spend our entire lives searching for the meaning and reason of our own living without ever finding a final answer. I am also convinced that no one can hope to truly begin to understand what life is meant to be, until one has begun to personally experience living. Equally, I am also convinced that nothing meaningful can ever be learnt by copying other people's lives, or waiting on their approval before stepping forward in our own life.
My hope for this book is that it will continue on the theme of the other books and be an opportunity to cover greater ground. I shall be writing brief comments on various aspects of life and living as I saw and experienced them, using quotations to reinforce and embellish my thoughts and to guide my direction and thinking. It is my sincere hope that they will serve as a platform to encourage others to examine their own personal thoughts and actions, and with any luck, initiate in them an interest to search out their own lives for themselves.
